Nurse Educator/Clinical Education Specialist - Surgical Services

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, dynamic, Registered Nurse with an outstanding depth of knowledge in Surgical Services to join our team and drive our ongoing commitment to excellence.

The primary role of this position will be to assist with Periop Consortium education/training, and unit based education and on-boarding needs. Other responsibilities include competency development and support, mentorship, development of staff (skill content, equipment training), transition support, collaborative partnerships (student placement, liaison to improvement teams and SME on quality initiatives).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Masters degree in Nursing (MN,MSN) or Master's of Education (M.Ed) preferred.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Washington.
  • Health Care Provider CPR Certification
  • Three years nursing experience in acute healthcare setting required.
  • Intraoperative experience required.
  • CNOR strongly preferred.
  • Experience in adult education, teaching, program planning, development, coordination and evaluation process highly desired.
  • Experience in quality improvement efforts, facilitation and group process knowledge and skills preferred.
